What is Page Authority?

Page Authority (PA) is a metric developed by Moz that predicts how well a specific individual page will rank on search engine result pages (SERPs). Scored from 1 to 100, higher PA indicates stronger ranking potential for that particular page.

Unlike Domain Authority, which measures an entire website’s strength, Page Authority focuses solely on a single page’s performance. It’s calculated using various SEO factors, including the quality and quantity of links pointing to that specific page, the strength of those linking domains, and other ranking signals.

Why It Matters: PA helps you identify which pages on your site (or competitors’ sites) have the best chance of ranking well for targeted keywords. It’s particularly useful for prioritizing content optimization efforts, understanding which pages drive SEO value, and evaluating individual landing pages or blog posts.

Key Insight: Page Authority is comparative, not absolute. Use it to benchmark pages against each other or against competitor pages targeting similar keywords. Improving PA involves earning quality backlinks to the specific page, optimizing on-page SEO elements, and creating valuable, link-worthy content that naturally attracts authority.
