I’ve tried to watch it recently, and with the exception of when Justin Timberlake is on (who’s surprisingly funny on the show), it’s just a bunch of boring one-liners strung together trying to capture the next catch phrase.

But there was a time when this show rocked.  It spawned dozens of movie and television stars like Chevy Chase, Bill Murray, Eddie Murphy, Adam Sandler, and the late, great, Chris Farley.

Today, we remember Chris, and another fallen star, Patrick Swayze, with two of the funniest minutes in television history.

The letter comes to us from Gerald, a small business owner in Spokane, WA.

And he writes…

Dear BeBizzy,

We just bought our bed and breakfast from an older couple who had never done much marketing, but still did OK attracting older couples looking for fine dining and a romantic getaway.   Their natural-colored paint and stuffy logo isn’t quite what we were looking for to attract young hipsters interested in a quiet location to polish their first e-book, or to sample the best vegan-style dining in our newly decorated, and fully free wi-fi cafe.

So naturally we contracted a high-priced agency out of San Francisco, where all the good artists live and work.  The logo was a perfect blend of green, symbolizing our care for the environment, and a subtle blue, which everyone knows, stimulates creativity.

All of our marketing will be done online to ensure we don’t use any environmentally-unfriendly materials like paper or ink.  Websites, social media, and viral videos will convey our message to a very targeted demographic and attract only those who have similar political views and fashion styles.

But we have a problem.  That San Francisco agency created our website and Facebook header containing our logo… and it’s too small.  We poured our heart and soul into that logo.    It took 19 revisions and countless cups of coffee before we settled on the perfect representation of us, our business, and our customers.

So, please, send out this song to the agency.  We can only hope that with this subtle nudge they will see things our way, and put our logo in a more prominent place.

I just DJ’d a wedding for a couple that met on Match.com, and know a few others that have found their “match” online as well.

But I would imagine you’d have to do a little better than this guy’s video if you were looking for a date online. Check out this awesomely fake dating profile featuring Jeremy Rowly as Bobby, the guy who will put you on the back of a milk carton.

If you have about a 1/2 hour, take a listen and let the witty banter wash over you.  Who knows, you may learn something.

But I’m here for you, ‘Merica.  Follow this link to some easy fixes to those horrible day-to-day experiences that make like in these United States a grind.

Well, hate not more!  Burger King to the rescue with the ultimate in lazy dining.  It’s the human version of the dog who plops down in front of his food dish and inhales kibble.

You might call it fake, or a parody.  But I call it test marketing.  Don’t you think we’re the perfect society for this thing?  Comedian Patton Oswalt has an awesome rant on KFC’s famous bowls.  He ends the bit talking about a lunch gun that shoots liquified KFC into his arteries, but settles for a failure pile in a sadness bowl.  We’re not that far away, kids.

Well, turn it up, man!

Oh, and by the way, this isn’t Jan Terri’s only hit single.  She’s got six more where that came from.  Including such hits as, “Losing You,” “Baby Blues,” “Journey to Mars,” and “Get Down Goblin.”  See them all here.

First is the passionate fans.  They turn out by the thousands to watch a small white ball get kicked slowly from one end of the pitch to the other.   Amazing what beer and a mob mentality can achieve.

And second, the most dramatically faked injuries in the sporting world.  I’ve seen video of players 5-8′ away from anyone fall down like they were shot by a high-powered rifle, waving their hands in the air to attract attention and get the opposition carded.

Then in saw this video several years ago, and it all made sense.

While the technology being talked about dates the video, the processes, frustration level, and feigned customer service is quite relevant.

Watch this, then remember it the next time you call anywhere to get some help.  It’s pretty close to what’s going on.
